Service Description:

Mental health services for seniors * geriatric psychiatrists from the Royal Ottawa Hospital are on site weekly * assessment and consultation, counselling and case management * seeing individuals at the office or in the patients' homes, in a retirement home setting and in long term care facilities * education to community groups on mental health issues of the elderly

Application:

Self-referrals accepted * when possible, the individual being referred must agree to access the services * referrals from agencies and other professionals must be in writing and include a completed referral form; mental health professionals (psychiatrists, social workers, psychologists etc.) must include supporting documentation * form for non-urgent referrals available on website

Eligibility / Target Population:

Individuals 65 years and older who have a mental health and/or cognitive problem, memory or mood issues, or need counseling services
