Service Description: Comprehensive public health inspection program in Renfrew County and District to deliver the Ontario Public Health Standards and Protocols including but not limited to:
  • food safety program involving inspection of food premises and institutions, special event food vendors, food safety complaint investigations, food recalls, safe food handling certification courses
  • drinking water safety program to monitor safety of public water supplies, water sample bottles for testing of private drinking water supplies and interpretation of results
  • inspection and monitoring of public recreational water facilities (pools * spas * beaches) * rabies control and prevention program
  • enteric disease investigation and outbreak control * infection prevention and control in personal services settings, daycares, health care and community residential facilities * health hazard complaints and investigations
  • enforcement of the Smoke-Free Ontario Act
  • Vector-borne disease control program including monitoring of mosquitoes for West Nile Virus and the surveillance and testing of ticks for Lyme disease
