Service Description: Builds affordable homes for local families

Operates ReStores, retail outlets * These are open to the public at three locations selling donated new and used home renovation materials

Fees: Volunteer 500 hours on the building of their own home and other Habitat Greater Ottawa homes and activities
Application: Complete Application online by visiting the website * a Family Selection Committee chooses potential homeowners based on set criteria
Eligibility / Target Population: Canadian citizen or landed immigrant 18 years and older * present housing does not meet the family's needs, may be in poor shape, too costly, unhealthy, unsafe, too small, etc. * working with a steady income, but unable to afford or obtain a conventional mortgage and the total family income of at least $59,137 * need to have children under the age of 18 by time of move-in
