The Boys Are Back In Town
Rocky Sands and the Pebbles release CD of triumphant 2005 charity concert and announce new gig and MRI.
(Pembroke) – Hometown rock stars Rocky Sands and the Pebbles make their triumphant return with the release of their 2005 live concert recording on CD in support of MRI: Image Matters. The official launch party will be held August 29th, but you can pick up a copy of Rocky Sands and the Pebbles Live right now.
“We were sitting on 24 recordings and wanted to put something together for the family of Len ‘Zak’ Zacharoff, who got to play this concert but has sadly passed away. Once we got the track together for Lenny’s family, we realized we had something here,” shared Eli ‘Rocky Sands’ Boucher. “We sat down with Richard, and decided to press the entire album and drive the proceeds to improving our community. Richard has done a tremendous job with the record, and we are very proud of it.”
The barn-burning 2005 sold-out concert was held at the Pembroke Memorial Centre in support of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation and was recorded by sound engineer Richard Allen. Helmed by Eli “Rocky Sands” Boucher, the proceeds from the CD are being invested in the MRI: Image Matters Campaign and can be purchased at several local businesses.
Since 2005, members Len Zacharoff and Jack Clouthier have passed away, but the band promises to honour their legacy and contributions by bringing the house down. On August 29th the official party featuring Rocky Sands and the Pebbles headlining the stage gets underway at the Best Western Pembroke Inn and Conference Centre.
“The concert is going to be a blast, and if you can’t wait to hear us in person, you can certainly get your hands on a copy of the album now,” continued Eli. “We’re selling the album in support of the MRI at the Pembroke Mall Office, the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation Office, the Hospital Sunshine Gift Shop, Michael Moncion Photography, Town and Country Men’s Shop, and Bob’s Music. We love this album – the band sounds terrific. Lenny Zacharoff and Jack Clouthier would be proud.”
The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation’s MRI: Image Matters is approaching the final stage of fundraising with less than $720,000 left to secure.
