March is MRI Awareness Month - Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation Reaching Across the Ottawa Valley
Pembroke (ON) – The MRI Committee of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation will be fanning out across the Ottawa Valley throughout March to raise awareness and emphasize the benefits that MRI will provide for all residents.
“The PRH is the designated regional hospital for more than 100,000 people,” stated Bob Cotnam, MRI Committee and PHRF Chair. “MRI is an invaluable diagnostic tool that we are working to bring to the Ottawa Valley sooner rather than later. Non-critical MRI wait times for Valley residents can be as long as 209 days and having the machine will drastically lower that number.”
As part of the March Awareness Month, the Foundation is working with partner businesses to spread the message with electronic signage and donation boxes across the Ottawa valley.
“Our health is in the hands of the community,” shared Pierre Noel, President and CEO of the Pembroke Regional Hospital. “While the government provides funds for the staffing and operations of new technology, it is up to the community to purchase these tools that will improve health care access.”
With over $2.8 million of the PRHF fundraising goal already secured, the Foundation is looking for the final $1.7 million to meet their target.
