Champlain Community Care Access Centre
Champlain CCAC Earns Full Accreditation Status

The Champlain CCAC has received the official word that it has been ‘Accredited with Exemplary Standing’ by Accreditation Canada. The accreditation survey was completed the week of Dec. 6 and the official announcement came just in time for the holidays.

The Champlain CCAC has achieved the highest level of accreditation. This designation means the Champlain has met or exceeded standards of excellence related to health care, from patient safety and ethics, to staff governance and partnering with the community. The accreditation designation is valid for three years.

“Accreditation demonstrates our commitment to excellence,” explains CEO Gilles Lanteigne. “It provides us with a solid foundation to serve our clients and continuously improve quality and safety.” Three surveyors from Accreditation Canada conducted a rigorous review of the Champlain, including visits to eight Champlain sites, interviews with a range of staff and external stakeholders, policy reviews, and client home visits.

During the debriefing to staff following the completion of the survey process, the surveyors highlighted the Champlain CCAC’s innovation, professionalism and knowledge. “I have never met such a committed group of people in all my life,’ said surveyor Joan Whelan, who is a registered nurse with a doctorate in adult education.

Board Chair Michael Ennis emphasized that the designation was the result of the collective efforts and dedication of staff at all levels. “I want to express my sincere thanks to the staff of the Champlain CCAC – you should all be very proud of this remarkable achievement.”
