Addiction Services of Eastern Ontario
ASEO New Programs Quick Facts
ASEO provides addiction-specific treatment to the population of Eastern Counties (Prescott & Russell, and Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry), aged 12 years old and over. Examples of programs offered in Prescott and Russell are:
- assessment and referral to treatment centres;
- individual and group therapy;
- case management;
- structured relapse prevention; -
- treatment for gambling problems;
- early childhood development (for mothers);
- concurrent disorders (for addictions and mental health issues).
New Offices & New Phone Numbers: ASEO has moved to 480 McGill St., in Hawkesbury, next to the Centre Royal-Comtois Center (CRCC), and other community agencies.
They also have new phone numbers:
- 1-855-624-1415, available throughout Prescott and Russell,
- 613-446-6776 for Rockland residents. The 613-632-1415 number for Hawkesbury residents remains the same.
NEW PROGRAMS:
- Intake:The Intake Program in Prescott & Russell is now fully accessible directly from the Hawkesbury and Rockland offices. Clients can now call directly to obtain access to ASEO programs without having to go through another SD&G office.
- Housing: The “Supportive Housing Program”, funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) and the Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), offers case management and therapy services to people who are having difficulties maintaining suitable housing while receiving addiction-specific treatments. This program relies on important local community partnerships.
- Youth: The YTIP, “Youth Transition Improvement Project” (funded by the LHIN) aims at helping youth between the ages of 16 and 24 who are transitioning from children’s mental health services to adult services. Thanks to local partnerships, this program offers coordination, system navigation and transitioning services to youth and their families. The YTIP is in its initial development phase and will be launched in January of 2012. ASEO is also investing in youth by increasing basic services to their younger clients, aged 12 years old and over.
- Fast-Track: ASEO is proud to partner with the Centre Royal-Comtois Center in the “Quick Response Treatment Program” (QRTP). This program offers access to assessment and rapid stabilization in order to prevent emergency visits and hospitalizations. It also allows Prescott & Russell residents to benefit from individual and/or group psychotherapy for addictions, mental health and/or concurrent disorders. Referrals to this program are assessed by the intake team at CRCC.
- Diabetes: Thanks to funding from Health Canada and support from the Réseau des services de santé en français de l’Est de l’Ontario (RSSFEO), the ASEO, Centre Royal-Comtois Center and the Hawkesbury & District General Hospital is offering services to people who live with diabetes, and addictions and/or mental health issues. The clientele benefits from psychotherapy group sessions offered by an array of professionals from different areas and agencies. The objective is to increase patient selfmanagement of their chronic illness. Referrals to this program are assessed by the intake team at CRCC.
