Health Unit to Close Almonte Office on February 11th, 2009

The Board of Health for the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit announced the closure of its Almonte Office last week at the regular board meeting. This measure is part of a broader strategy undertaken to manage the organization in the coming financially difficult times.

“Closing an office is not an easy decision, but the Health Unit is committed to providing a high level of service to the North Lanark area,” says Dr. Anne Carter, Medical Officer of Health and CEO of the Health Unit. “We are open to finding new and innovative ways to deliver services.”

Community members are invited to attend a presentation at the Mississippi Mills Council Meeting at 7pm on February 2nd for more details about how the Health Unit plans to deliver service to the public.
