German Measles - Champlain

German measles or rubella is an acute infectious disease that resembles both scarlet fever and measles. It is characterized by a slight fever, sore throat and rash that begins on the face, spreads rapidly over the whole body, and fades quickly. Rubella in pregnant women, especially in the first two or three months of gestation, may cause serious birth defects including mental retardation, deafness, congenital cataracts and heart problems.
