Champlain Region

In 1613 a fearless young Frenchman traveled up the Ottawa River and recorded his experiences. Nearly 400 years later, Champlain Lookout near Renfrew, Ontario honours this famous visitor and provides a breathtaking view of the Eardley Escarpment. Champlain Lookout is just one of the “high points” in this vast region of great natural beauty.

Stretching along the Ottawa and St. Lawrence Rivers, the Champlain Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) follows the boundaries of the Champlain Local Health Integration Network, encompassing the counties of Renfrew, Prescott and Russell, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, and parts of North Lanark and North Grenville, and the bustling capital city of Ottawa. Rich in history and heritage and offering everything from country roads and breathtaking waterscapes to world-class museums and galleries, Champlain is home to more than one million people.

From Barry's Bay to Pointe-Fortune, Deux Rivieres to Iroquois and areas in between, the Champlain CCAC serves rural areas, villages, towns and cities as a single point of access for information and referral to community resources. The Champlain CCAC additionally provides service outside of the Champlain district to Madawaska and Whitney and the rest of the Township of South Algonquin.
