our guest speaker Karen is an Exercise Therapist in Lakeridge Health's Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Community Exercise Program and has been with Lakeridge Health for an astounding 29 years. Her career has spanned everything from Recreation Therapy in Outpatient NeuroRehab and Complex Continuing Care, to more than two decades in Cardiac Rehab. She is one of the driving forces behind Durham Region's new COPD Community Exercise Clinic.

Beyond her professional impact, Karen and her husband have also been generous supporters of the Lakeridge Health Foundation, donating their time and resources to help raise tens of thousands of dollars for important causes. Karen has been a volunteer for the Canadian Women’s Hearth Health Alliance for the past 6 years.

When she’s not developing new programs or inspiring patients on their wellness journey, Karen can be found snowboarding, training for half-marathons, or spending time outdoors with her family and her dog.
