During Victims of Crime week, the Fraud and Scams session will explore the impact of frauds and scams on victims. Attendees will learn how easy it can be to fall victim to a crime and learn tips to avoid becoming a victim of scams including romance, identity theft, distraction, grandparent/emergency, as well as phone, email and phishing scams. The session will provide an overview of safety in your home, when out in public, and when travelling in cars and on public transportation. Resources available to help victims of crime will also be provided.
?This event is hosted in partnership with the Community Navigation of Eastern Ontario/211 East Ontario which is a non-profit, bilingual organization that connects people to community, social, health and government services. The mission of CNEO/211 is to make lives better by connecting the community to the resources they need.
