Service Description: Volunteers and community partners work together to build safe, affordable housing as a means to breaking the poverty cycle

The Habitat ReStore: Retail outlet open to the public that sells donated new and used home renovation materials. There are two locations in Ottawa: 768 Belfast Rd, 613-744-7769 and 7 Enterprise Rd, 613-225-8400 * accepts donations of new and gently used building materials, pop can recycling program, accepts electronic waste

Meetings: Monthly committee meetings
Fees: Ability to repay an interest-free mortgage * work 500 hours (sweat equity) on the building of their own home and other Habitat GO homes and activities
Application: Call the Habitat for HumanityGO office to get your name on the list for the next Information Session * application forms are distributed at the Housing Information Sessions only * a Family Selection Committee chooses potential homeowners based on their need
Eligibility / Target Population: Canadian citizen or landed immigrant 18 years and older * present housing does not meet the family's needs, may be in poor shape, too costly, unhealthy, unsafe, too small, etc. * working with a steady income, but unable to afford or obtain a conventional mortgage and the total family income between $46,993-$69,542 as required by Revenue Canada per family size
