Service Description: Ensures pro-active measures are taken to improve the recruitment, training and employment of all Aboriginal people
  • information about programs and services available to support training or employment plans or to increase self-marketability.
  • assists employers with training proposal preparation * referral to employment and training supports in the community
  • assists Aboriginal individuals with resume writing * employment counselling * up-to-date labour market information * referral to employment and training opportunities

Fees: None
Application: To have the office refer client resumes, the client is required to meet with the employment counselor to complete an intake and assessment and to review their current resume.

* To apply for a wage subsidy or training/upgrading resources the client will also have to have an intake and assessment completed as well as bring all relevant material to support their requests. Clients are free to drop in to access resources
Eligibility / Target Population: Aboriginal, Status or Non-Status (proof of ancestry is required) * individuals 16 years and older * eligibility requirements apply if clients are seeking financial support for training or other employ-ability interventions
