Service Description:

To make an application for financial assistance:go to www.ontario.ca/page/social-assistance to start an online application, or call 3-1-1 and select 4 for Social Services, then 3
Residents already on Ontario Works and the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) can call their case workers with questions or to ask for help
Ontario Works clients can also call 3-1-1, select 4, then 2 to speak to an agent
Financial and employment assistance to people in temporary financial need * can help pay for basic needs such as food, housing costs, certain furniture (beds (one every five years based on need), cribs, high chairs (one per family based on need) and a stove or fridge where not provided by landlord) and prescription drugs
People receiving assistance through Ontario Works take part in employment activities which help them prepare for and find employment * program is delivered through four Employment and Social Services offices:
- Central - 370 Catherine St, 1st Flr, Ottawa, ON K1R 5T5
- East - Beacon Hill Shopping Center, 2339 Ogilvie Rd, Ottawa, ON K1J 8M6
- South - 2020 Walkley Rd, Ottawa, ON K1G 6S6
- West - 100 Constellation Dr, 2nd Flr, Ottawa, ON K2G 6J8
