Service Description: Housing services

Transitional Family Housing Program for Newcomer Individuals: approximately 175 beds to newcomer women and men who are referred by the City of Ottawa * Residents stay for up to 12 months and participate in active case management, newcomer/employment services, and life skills training to prepare them for successful life in Canada (and permanent housing)

TRY Supportive Housing Program: housing for 43 single adults (men/women) who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and need support to move on to permanent housing when they are ready * case managers and 24/7 support staff, as well as access to crisis counselling, community resource information and support to help clients achieve their long-term goals * Entry is via application form available on the website * Monthly Supportive Housing Program for long-term tenants (not currently taking applications)

Second Stage Housing Program:17 beds, case management and life skills programming for youth aged 16 to 24 involved in full-time school, employment, training, counselling and/or volunteering * Entry is via application form available on the website

Fees: Residents generally pay 30% of income towards their shelter contribution
Application: Transitional Housing for Newcomers: Contact City of Ottawa by phone to request an application for social assistance and referral to a shelter (3-1-1) * During regular business hours, ongoing Ontario Works clients may contact their Case Coordinator directly for a referral * Application to youth and supportive housing is via application available on the website or by phone
Eligibility / Target Population: Transitional housing: newcomer individuals * Second Stage Housing: Homeless or at-risk youth aged 16-24 * Supportive housing: Adults who are homeless or at-risk and need supports to remain housed
