Universal Influenza Immunization Program to launch on October 26, 2015
The official launch of the 2015/16 Universal Influenza Immunization Program (UIIP) will be on October 26, 2015. As in previous years, the flu vaccine will be widely available for the general public on the launch date, while the focus prior to the launch is on the immunization of high priority groups.
The 2015/2016 UIIP implementation materials provide information about all influenza vaccines included in the 2015/16 UIIP including the FluMist® vaccine. Implementation materials are now posted on the ministry website at http://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/pro/programs/publichealth/flu/uiip/.
PLEASE NOTE: FluMist is only available in limited quantities at this time; consequently, current supply is primarily for use with children aged 2-5 years. Additional supplies will be available in mid-November.
