Ever wanted to redesign the system? - Ottawa Special Needs Strategy

The Government of Ontario has asked all agencies across the province that work with children and youth with special needs, especially those with complex and multiple needs, to work together to improve the coordination of special needs services and integration of rehabilitation services.

Five engagement sessions for families and caregivers of children and youth who wish to share their thoughts on what a better system should look like will be held in April at the locations and on the dates below. All sessions will be from 6:30-8:30 pm. Please register at https://sns-rsvp.eventbrite.ca, indicating which session you would like to attend. Please note that the session on April 21 at École secondaire publique Louis Riel will be held in French. All other sessions will be in English. Participation will be limited due to space, so please register early. Other options to participate are available.

Following your registration you will receive the questions that will guide the engagement session. Please note that reimbursement of childcare (including for those with complex needs) and taxi expenses incurred to attend a session will be available.

If you would prefer to participate via a webcast (on April 22) or be contacted by phone at another time, please email us at ottawasns@gmail.com.

Sessions will be held on:
  • April 16 - WOCRC, 2 MacNeil Court, Kanata
  • April 21 - Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre, 1365 Richmond Road
  • April 21 - Louis Riel School, 1655 Chemin Bearbrook
  • April 22 - Odawa Friendship Centre, 250 City Centre Avenue
  • April 22 - 1616 Montreal Road, CHEO
