Health Unit aims to help improve accessibility to dental programs
April is Oral Health Month. The focus of the 2015 campaign at the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit is to increase public awareness of the importance of oral health, and to improve accessibility to dental programs and services.
Everyone deserves a healthy smile. If you do not have dental insurance through work or a government social service program, the Health Unit wants to connect with you. As part of their strategy to promote oral health and prevent dental disease, they want you to discuss eligibility for programs and services before you or your children experience pain from cavities or gum disease.
Working together to improve the oral health of your family, the Oral Health Team at the Health Unit can provide something for everyone. They offer oral health education and dental screening for all ages. Clients eligible for programs can access treatment at local dental offices, or receive preventive services like scaling, fluoride, and sealants at a Health Unit Dental Clinics. Children 17 years and younger may be eligible for free dental services too!
Your oral health affects your overall health. Healthy teeth and gums are important at all ages and stages!
