Champlain LHIN Welcomes New Board Chair, Jean-Pierre Boisclair
NEWS - March 12, 2015: Jean-Pierre Boisclair has been appointed as the Board Chair of the Champlain LHIN, effective March 4, for a three-year term.
Mr. Boisclair is a Chartered Accountant and former Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer at the Conference Board of Canada, where he was responsible for financial and performance management and reporting.
Mr. Boisclair’s appointment follows that of Dr. Wilbert J. Keon, who was the Champlain LHIN Board Chair from February 2011 until September 2014. Dr. Keon’s leadership in transforming our regional health care system, and creating healthier communities has had a significant impact on the residents of Champlain.
Mr. Boisclair’s 44 years of professional work experience includes serving as President of the Canadian Comprehensive Auditing Foundation (a national research and educational organization), CEO of Westhill Industries Limited (a Canadian aerospace manufacturer), and partner of a national public accounting firm.
He was also former Chair of the Board of Directors of the Ottawa Children's Treatment Centre, and a former Director of the Ottawa Hospital, where he chaired the Audit Committee, and was a member of its Quality Committee and Executive Committee. He was also a member of the Board of Directors eHealth Ontario from 2010-15 where he chaired the Finance and Audit Committee.

Quick Facts- The Board Chair is appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, chosen through a process of the Public Appointments Secretariat of the Province of Ontario.
- The Champlain LHIN, is 1 of 14 LHINs across Ontario mandated to plan, integrate, and fund local health services including hospitals, community health centres, community support services, long-term care homes, home care and mental health and addictions services.
- The Champlain LHIN and its Board of Directors provides over $2.5 billion in annual funding to these agencies.
- The LHIN Board of Directors is accountable, through the Chair, to the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care for the LHIN’s use of public funds, and for its results in terms of goals and performance of the local health system.
