Champlain Elder Abuse consultation Team

The Champlain Elder Abuse Consultation Team is a multidisciplinary group of experts who meet regularly with staff of the Champlain elder abuse response and referral services, and other community service providers, to discuss real cases of elder abuse. On a case by case and confidential basis, the Team suggests options, strategies, programs and services relevant to the specific situation.

Cases are presented without identifying information and may be referred to the Team in instances such as the following:

  • the case is complex;
  • the case presents an ethical dilemma(s);
  • the case requires the expertise of Team members; and/or
  • the client has refused services or access has been prohibited.

The Consultation Team does not accept referrals from the general public and does not carry a caseload.
