Champlain CCAC launches new and improved Champlainhealthline.ca

Ottawa – Today, the Champlain Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) is launching a newly upgraded Champlainhealthline.ca website that will make it even easier for users across the Champlain region to access timely health-related information. Champlainhealthline.ca is one of the first sites to be re-launched as part of a provincial e-health initiative designed to "connect people to care."

New features on the site include:

  • A postal code search to make it easier for visitors to find services in their local communities.
  • An About Us section, which allows agencies to describe services in their own words; announce events and new programs, and have videos posted.
  • An improved layout with a unified design that will make the site easier to navigate for consumers across the region.
  • Easy access to a reliable source of data highlighting current services across communities in the Champlain region.

“This marks an exciting new phase in the evolution of Information and Referral services,” said Champlain CCAC CEO, Gilles Lanteigne. “The Champlain CCAC is proud to be a pilot site for this vital initiative and of our expanded role as a health system navigator and care connector.”

Started in 2009, this innovative web portal now features over 3,000 service listings describing organizations and programs that serves people living in Ottawa, Renfrew county, Prescott and Russell, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, and North Lanark and North Grenville.

Over the next few months, a number of other CCACs are planning a similar roll out. A common provincial portal will include a data base of more than 50,000 health and social service providers in Ontario.

The upgraded version of the website will be accessed using the existing urls:

English www.champlainhealthline.ca
French www.lignesantechamplain.ca
