Healthy Smiles Ontario No Cost Dental Care for Eligible Children

Healthy Smiles Ontario is a no-cost dental program for eligible children and youth age seventeen and under who do not have access to any other form of dental coverage. Eligible children and youth will receive preventive and early treatment dental services.

Children and youth 17 years of age and under may be eligible for Healthy Smiles Ontario if:
  • They are residents of Ontario ;
  • They are members of a household with an adjusted Family Net Income of $20,000 per year or below and;
  • They do not have access to any form of dental coverage (including other government-funded programs, like Ontario Works).

Healthy Smiles Ontario covers regular visits to a licensed dental care provider such as a dentist or dental hygienist, to establish and maintain good oral health. It covers a full range of services including check-ups, cleaning, fillings, x-rays, scaling and more.

Healthy Smiles Ontario does not cover cosmetic dentistry (such as teeth whitening), orthodontics (such as braces) or urgent/emergency dental services. However, an urgent or health issue to children and youth age 17 years and under may be covered through the Children In Need of Treatment (CINOT) Program.
