H1N1 Vaccine Priority Groups Expanded

The Province and Renfrew County and District Health Unit advise that, effective Monday, November 16, 2009, the following groups are being added to the priority groups for pH1N1 immunization:
  • Children ages 5 to 13 inclusive
  • Adults over 65 years with chronic medical conditions

Seniors 65 years + with underlying health conditions are encouraged to check with their primary care provider to begin to access the pH1N1 vaccine.

“The Health Unit’s pH1N1 flu clinic schedule is being updated to include possible extra pick-up clinics” said Vicki Benoit, Coordinator. “All presently scheduled clinics will continue as advertised.”

The public should continue to consult the health unit website (www.rcdhu.com) for the latest updates and are reminded that the health unit is not the sole provider of the pH1N1 vaccine.
