Employ-Ability Program staff develop networks to serve all people with disabilities, including First Nations people with disabilities

Pembroke - The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) has granted $45,000 over two years to expand the Employ-Ability (EA) program in Pembroke, Ontario. In particular, the Society is working with First Nations organizations and communities to expand its employment services to First Nations people with disabilities in Renfrew County. John Yakabuski, MPP for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, joined OTF representative Colleen Sauriol in congratulating the organization.

“We are fortunate to have this fine organization, their staff and volunteers working in Renfrew County,” said MPP Yakabuski. “The Neil Squire Society is to be commended for the tremendous work they do in our communities for people with disabilities. I would like to extend my congratulations to all those who worked on the grant application, on a job well done.”

The Neil Squire Society is pleased to have this opportunity to expand its network of contacts with First Nations organizations, as well as the general public. The Society is seeking input for its Employ-Ability program to ensure it is meeting the needs of all people with disabilities.

Neil Squire Society’s Employ-Ability program provides a great opportunity for adults with a disability to identify their abilities, interests and skills, learn job search techniques, resume and cover letter writing, interview skills and build confidence in a friendly, barrier-free environment.
