County of Renfrew Paramedic Service introduces Community Health Assurance Program in Eganville, Ontario

Pembroke ON: The County of Renfrew Paramedic Service will be providing general wellness assessment clinics in Eganville, Ontario as part of the Community Health Assurance Program currently being launched.

Beginning Thursday, March 26th the County of Renfrew Paramedic Service, in partnership Fairfields, will be providing regular blood pressure and blood sugar monitoring clinics for local area residents. The clinic will run from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on the last Thursday of every month.

Michael Nolan, Chief of the County of Renfrew Paramedic Service believes a key ingredient in maintaining good health is a better understanding of every individual’s own health risks. “By providing qualified paramedics to conduct regular health checks in the community residents will be better informed about their personal health risks and better positioned, if necessary, to seek appropriate health care in a timely manner before it becomes an emergency call to 9-1-1”.

The Emergency Services Department of the County of Renfrew is committed to improving the quality of life for residents in the County and is focusing on building capacity, working with our partners and seeking innovative ways to meet the communities’ needs. Under the umbrella of the Community Health Assurance Program the General Wellness Clinic in Eganville is the first of its kind in the County. “As a member of the community Paramedic Duty Officer John Godin has recognized this need in the Eganville area and has worked diligently to develop the necessary partnerships to make this idea a reality”, asserts Chief Nolan.

The Emergency Services Department, municipal Fire Services, and the Ontario Provincial Police provide emergency response 24 hours per day, 365 days per year and work cooperatively to maintain public safety and security to the residents and visitors to the County. The Community Health Assurance Program will serve to compliment these services and provide another level of professional health care in the community.
