If someone you care about is nearing the end of their life, support is available to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and practical needs of both you and your loved one. Hospice palliative care is inclusive of a comprehensive range of care and supportive services offered in community, institutional and residential settings. Care directives address legal issues. Bereavement services support individuals experiencing a range of emotions following the loss of a loved one. Programs for widows and widowers address social, emotional and practical needs.
At the present time, the Champlain region is involved in a planning initiative to develop a regional model for the delivery of hospice palliative services across our region.
