Healthy Conversations

In January 2010, the Champlain CCAC received funding from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care via the Healthy Work Environment Innovation Fund Grant Program for a project entitled “Connecting you with care: Healthy Conversations”. Completed in March 2010, the purpose of this project was to design, implement, evaluate and disseminate tools and leading practices for the creation of safer and healthier workplaces for Ontario’s healthcare workers. Champlain CCAC focused on respect in the workplace thereby addressing the increase in workplace conflict attributed to mounting pressures within the system and the inevitable impact on staff striving to provide outstanding care to clients.

A collaborative partnership between CCAC and service providers helped define the content, program approach, and plan for the delivery of learning workshops. This process of learning and knowledge sharing between system partners modeled the behaviors the program itself is championing.
