Service Description: Information for those with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity, and their families and friends, via presentations, guest speakers, newsletters and a membership kit containing ingredient lists, recipes, lists of suppliers of gluten-free foods, etc.
  • Assists in the education of professionals and the public with reference to the general management of the disease and the gluten-free diet;
  • Information about where to buy and how to prepare special foods for those who have to eat gluten free;
  • Holds at least four events meetings every year which feature speakers, vendors of gluten-free food, etc.

Meeting: Meetings are held at the Riverside United Church (3191 Riverside Dr, Ottawa). Large events take place in September, December, February, and June at either 6:30 pm or 7:30 pm (depending on whether food is served). Special meetings for those newly diagnosed or having questions about celiac disease or the gluten-free diet are held three of four times a year on a similar schedule. Fully accessible; free parking.
Fees: Membership - First year 65$. After the first year, 50$ per family includes initial documentation, national monthly newsletter and Ottawa Chapter newsletter four times a year.
