Service Description: Federally chartered, national consumer and advocacy organization for the blind or visually impaired * nation-wide association * assists and enhances the efforts of individuals who are blind or vision impaired * aids in regaining self-confidence, self-esteem, and independence

Promotes: equality for Canada's blind and visually impaired * their integration in the sighted population * recreational and social activities * equal treatment of the blind and visually impaired in a free and democratic society without limitation or discrimination.

Monitors and assesses the services provided by the service delivery agencies * ensures quality of service throughout Canada * development of technology training programs.
