Service Description:
|
Three service components tailored to meet individual needs:
Information and Resource Service (IRS) -- workshops, information and resources on careers and occupations, the local labour market, training opportunities and job search strategies * information on apprenticeship training and resources for internationally trained individuals seeking employment consistent with their skills and experience
Employment Planning and Preparation (EEP) -- individual support to clarify employment needs and develop an action plan, assist with making decisions, and searching for a job
Job Development and Placement Support (JDPS) -- placements into employment for work experience and/or on-the-job training
Summer Jobs Service (SJS) -- focuses on providing students with work experience during the summer months, and offers employers a $2.00 per hour hiring incentive to hire students. Students may access the Information and Referral Service (IRS) in Job Connect year-round to help facilitate their planning for summer employment while attending school

Eligibility - Population(s) Served:
|
Information and Resource Service (IRS) -- walk-in community resource for anyone seeking employment and/or training
Employment Planning and Preparation (EEP) and Job Development and Placement Support (JDPS) -- persons 16 years and over, out of school and out of work, and not receiving Employment Insurance benefits
Summer Jobs Service (SJS) -- students between the ages of
15-24, up to 29 for persons with disablilities; planning to return to school in the fall; eligible to work in Canada.
