Service Description: Employment services for the community * Helps Ontarians find sustainable employment * assessment of skills, capabilities, interests and experience * job search strategies, including resume preparation * information about different careers and occupations, the local labour market, employment and training opportunities * on-the-job training and/or work experience and, in some cases, additional support to help maintain employment * information and referrals to all Employment Ontario Funded Programs including Second Career Program for laid-off workers and the Ontario Self Employment Benefit Program (OSEB), which offers income and entrepreneurial support during the process of developing and launching a business * information about, and referral to, other community services and supports



Ontario Employment Assistance Services (EAS): Employment assessment and counselling for persons returning to work * barriers to employment explored and action plan developed and implemented * job search support * referral to appropriate employment service or vocational training program including Employment Ontario-funded programs such as Job Creation Partnerships, Self-Employment Benefit, Skills Development, and Targeted Wage Subsidy



Employment Integration: Employment services for Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) recipients. Employment support is provided for those who have a handicap and wish to work, prepare for the job market and find meaningful employment.

Panini X-press – Training Enterprise (English/French): An employment program that offers 12 weeks of practical work experience in a kitchen setting. Training is offered for meal preparation and customer service.

Millenium Learning Centres (English/French): A welcoming and friendly site where people can use computers and access the Internet.

Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Unemployed persons working less than 20 hours per week and legally entitled to work in Canada * Employment Insurance (EI) and Reachback clients (persons with an active EI claim, have a claim that ended within the last 3 years or have a maternity/parental claim that ended in the past 5 years).

Self-service information and resources -- anyone, including people with jobs, those who are under-employed, people looking for work, students, apprentices, internationally trained individuals, employers

Assisted services (such as supported job search, job matching and placement, job retention services) -- people who are unemployed and out of school

Employers can get help in identifying their human resource skill requirements, matching of position/workplace needs to participants' skills, capabilities, interests and experience, and support for developing on-the-job training plans and monitoring of placements to support success and retention
