Service Description: Offers intake activities and services for prevention and support to a large clientele. The priority is to work with at risk individuals and with low-income families.

Programs include:

* Prevention of social withdrawal of children, preteens, and teenagers by hosting diverse recreational activities, homework clubs, day camps during school breaks (March break, summer and Christmas).

* Support to at risk francophone adults by offering activities geared on socialization, discussion groups, and other social services for individuals experiencing loneliness or difficulties.

* Integration of people with developmental disabilities through daily autonomy, personal development, and spiritual growth workshops diverse recreational activities, individual and groups counselling, referral to specialized services.

* Social integration of elderly persons through social and recreational activities to break isolation, social and support services (workshops, conferences, discussion groups, tracking, “healthy outings”) in order to favour autonomy and healthful habits.

* Community projects and activities for all residents of the neighbourhood, regardless of which language they speak. Services and activities offered in partnership with other organizations: neighbourhood animation activities (“Basse-Ville en Fête”), food assistance services (“Magasin-Partage”).

In collaboration with several partners, the activities and services of the Patro d'Ottawa also include peer-assistance groups, and referrals to specialized services. The Patro lends and rents its rooms to community organizations.
